Louis Hughes, is one of the owners of Portalais and started the business along with a luxury homebuilder in Northern CA in 2001.
Louis acquired the company in full in 2005.He resides in Sonoma County and has five children and ten grandchildren.

As a company founder, Louis has had a vision for authentic European design and history that he brings into every project his company serves.

Edwin joined Portalais in 2011 after working for over 15 Years as an Operations Manager in the high-technology Industry. As one of the owners of Portalais, he is always up to date with new industry trends. He is always on the lookout for premier companies to partner with in order to offer the broadest possible range of product options and styles. Edwin is native of Panama and loves nothing more than spending time with his wife and two children. When he is not working or enjoying time with his family you can find him coaching soccer. Training goalkeepers is a particular passion of his.

Originally from Brisbane Australia, Craig moved to California in 2008 with his American wife and 4 children. As our Project Manager, Craig spends time visiting architects and designers introducing them to new products whilst also discussing any upcoming projects they may have. When not discussing the features of an industry leader window manufacturer such as Panoramah you can find him refereeing soccer in Sonoma County or working on his weekend hobby of creating furniture from wine barrels.

Martha has been a proud member of the Portalais team since 2019. With over 10 years of diversified experience in human resources, quality compliance, and administration, she brings a truly holistic management style to the company. She prides herself in being ethically minded and never failing to have a professional yet deeply compassionate attitude. When she is not actively ensuring a happy and welcoming work environment she can be found gardening, cooking, crafting, or  spending time with her husband and children.

Sarai has over 10 years of experience managing teams, meeting deadlines, and delivering excellence within a tight turnaround time. As a solution-driven professional, she has experience working across multiple sectors including leading research projects and managing regional grants portfolios. Sarai leads with empathy, conversation, and understanding of problems, acknowledging that there is never one right answer and nothing is impossible. As a systems thinker, she brings diverse perspectives and a drive towards efficiency and customer service as Portalais’ business development manager. Sarai will always ensure that you get the service and support you need at Portalais, where relationships and good service are the cornerstones of our business.

Cassandra is a seasoned sales and management professional with over a decade of experience driving solution-focused initiatives across diverse markets. Renowned for her ability to blend technical acumen with creative problem-solving, she has consistently delivered high-value outcomes for her clients. She frequently, and seamlessly, collaborates with engineering, design, and marketing teams to champion innovative solutions that balance performance, aesthetics, and functionality while staying true to design intent. Outside of her professional endeavors, Cassandra is a dedicated mother who cherishes quality time with loved ones. An avid outdoor enthusiast, she spends weekends camping, hiking, and exploring nature’s landscapes. These pursuits not only recharge her creativity but also reinforce her commitment to sustainability and life-long learning.

Known for transforming ideas into powerful visual identities, Costas has helped clients across the U.S. build brands that stand out and perform. He resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Jean Paul Levesque, was born and raised in Sonoma County. He has been in the construction  industry since he  was very young, working with his father who had his own construction company. He has specialized in interior finish for more than 20 years.
